A Late Afternoon Rain

On a late afternoon,

At the beginning of June,

I witnessed a wonderful sight!

It was raining,

More like showering gracefully,

Each drop illuminated,

By the warm sunrays!

"Fox's marriage", the folks

Named this phenomenon,

It was mesmerizing,

Like a Siren's song!

Heavenly drops, shiny,

Rolling gently down the leaves,

Scattering the magical sunlight!

Cool breeze, kissed

My face, Fluttering my hair,

Calming my anguished self...

My eyes feasted on that otherworldly sight....

It lasted only for a few minutes....

Yet, it made a deep impression on me,

As the hailstones, which I had seen for the first time....

I searched for a rainbow all around,

But couldn't find any..

Still, that's OK..

Because the rain was beautiful,

Even without a rainbow....

It was truly beautiful, calm and illuminous!!!
