A journey to the Land of Kings - PART 1 : TO RAJASTHAN

The Beginning

After my wedding in 2023, it was our wish to go on a long trip somewhere far away. After days of planning and waiting, it happened in November 2025. It could even be considered as a late Honey moon for us.  We planned (actually it was my husband who planned... I don't trust myself with all the planning). With the help of a tour agency in Rajasthan, we booked a tour plan. We planned to travel to our destination by flight and return by train.

Our journey from "God's own country" to the "Land of Kings" started on 22/11/2025. This was literally, "a dream come true" moment for me. I was not sure till we boarded the flight and reached Rajasthan, that we were finally doing this. Because the uncertainties were too much and the probabilities were disappearing. But somehow by God's Grace we could embark on this memorable journey of a lifetime...

It was raining when we started our trip. The pitter-patter continued during the take-off. My hubby was throwing some funny comments and remarks, which made the time fly away. As I looked down from my window seat from Indigo flight, the night life resembles a galaxy, thanks to all the electric lights illuminating everywhere. It felt like the stars have descended down to earth, brightening the dark landscapes.

Our first stop was Bengaluru Kempegowda Airport. It was no longer raining. It was past midnight and we were hungry and thought of a late night snack. There I had a most expensive but not worth it burgers.. But we were hungry and decided to be satisfied with that.. As usual I brought a short story book, "100 Greatest Short Stories". Our next flight was in morning. We spent time in the comfy waiting area and boarded the flight to Jaipur.

We reached Jaipur early in the morning. Our driver was waiting for us in the airport. The only common language we knew was Hindi. And I am more knowledgeable and fluent in Hindi compared to my husband. So my language skills really came in handy..  But my introvert nature was really suffering.

Our stay was arranged in Mahal Rajwada Resort, Jaipur. Apparently a wedding happened day before, and the place was fully booked. We had to wait a couple of hours  in the lobby and we had expensive chai in the nearby restaurant. Soon our room was made available and after fresh up and breakfast, we were ready for the official start of our trip.
